A former Stand-Up comic, Matt received the entertainment education of a lifetime while spending three years as the assistant to Academy Award winning producer, Brian Grazer at Imagine Entertainment. Leaving to pursue his writing career, Matt landed his first job on the Kevin Williams show, WASTELAND (ABC/Miramax).

Subsequently, Matt worked for the writer/director Mark Steven Johnson, (GRUMPY OLD MEN, SIMON BIRCH, DAREDEVIL, GHOSTRIDER) and spent several months helping rewrite THE CAT IN THE HAT with Mike Myers and Dave Foley. One of his feature scripts, The Flying Fathers has been optioned by Canal + and Universal Pictures.

In 2004, Matt started on LOST (ABC/Touchstone). Everyone on staff was convinced the show would never survive thirteen episodes. They were wrong. LOST went on to win the Emmy®, Golden Globe and Writers Guild Award for Best Drama. Matt was personally nominated for a 2007 Writers Guild Award for his work on Season 2.

Shortly after leaving LOST, Matt founded regular beans entertainment and was hired by Eidos/Crystal Dynamics to write the script for the video game TOMB RAIDER: ANNIVERSARY. The game has sold millions of copies worldwide. He is the co-creator and writer of the groundbreaking series, THE RESISTANCE for the Starz! Network and Ghost House Pictures which premiered on the SyFy channel in the Fall of 2010.

After serving as Managing Producer in Creative Partnerships and Innovation at NBC/Universal, Matt returned to TV after being invited to join the writing staff of the Warner Bros., Jerry Bruckheimer Television, NBC drama CHASE.

Matt lives with his wife, Michelle and their two sons, Vincent and Dominic. He is an Ironman triathlete and continues to work on a number of projects across multiple platforms and genres.
